GENERAL

We have put together a lot of information and tips regarding Venice, which we hope you'll find useful, on the "Venice" page.

The minimum rental period on our apartments is 3 nights and may be longer for specific properties or specific seasons.

No, guests are welcome on any day of the week, so you can enjoy greater flexibility when making your travel arragements.

Shorter stays e.g. 3/5 nights, are more expensive per night than weekly or longer stays due to the fixed costs of final cleaning, check-in etc. Nightly rates start to decrease for stays of 8 nights and over, with longer stays (more than 2 weeks) being even better value - for stays exceeding 2 weeks, please contact us for special rates.

All rates, irrespective of length of stay, are fully inclusive of all utilities* - gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, final cleaning, welcome on arrival and check-in up until 8 p.m.** are all included, as are air-conditioning and internet access if available at your chosen apartment. And while the Venice Tourist Tax*** is an extra, there are NO HIDDEN CHARGES.

Rentals of over 7 nights also include a weekly bed linen and towel change during your stay.

*  Telephone charges, where applicable, are extra.
** Arrivals between 8 p.m. and midnight incur a late arrival fee of €50, payable in cash upon arrival. We do organize check- in between midnight and 1:00 a.m. with a surcharge of € 100 to be paid in cash upon arrival. Check- in after 1:00 a.m. CAN ONLY BE ORGANIZED UPON REQUEST.
*** Introduced by the City of Venice Council on stays at hotels, b&b, campsites, apartment rentals etc., this per night/per person tax is levied on the first 5 consecutive nights of a client’s stay in Venice and is payable to your Views on Venice representative in cash (euros) upon arrival at the apartment.

The Rental Deposit (40% of the rental) will be debited from your credit card when you finalise your booking with us, while the balance will be debited by you through our credit card payment gateway at least 20 days prior to your arrival. Note that if paying by bank transfer, an extra €20 administrative fee will be charged to each transaction (i.e. deposit and final payment).

The Security Deposit (the amount specified alongside the apartment rate) is required against any breakage or damages to the apartment or to its furniture and equipment caused by the client during the rental period. This is payable to Views on Venice upon presentation of your credit card upon arrival at the apartment prior to occupancy.
Credit card details will be automatically recorded and subsequently cancelled by Views on Venice as soon as it has been established by our housekeeping team that no breakage or damage to the apartment or its furniture and equipment has occurred during the rental period.

Please note that shorter stays e.g. 3/5 nights, are more expensive per night than weekly or longer stays due to the fixed costs of final cleaning, check-in etc.

Yes, maid service is available on request. Just ask when you make your booking and we'll be delighted to give you full details.

Such an apartment is described as being on the 'Ground floor' with an apartment on the next floor up being 'First floor'...and so on.

Although this may vary from apartment to apartment, generally you will find crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking equipment and utensils as well as sugar and condiments. We will also be happy to satisfy your special requests for food and wine; just ask when booking.

We love children here at Views on Venice but unfortunately some apartments are not safe or comfortable for them. You can check this on every apartment description page which either states ‘Children allowed’ or ‘Children not allowed’ and if you search your apartment by date adding your children in the search, then the results will show the apartments where they are welcome. Usually we consider ‘children’ to be aged under 10 years old. If you need a baby cot please remember to request one when making your booking and contact us if you have any special request as we will be happy to help you. For more information on attractions for children take a look at our ‘Venice’ page and browse the apartments we have selected with families in mind - all are comfortable, roomy and centrally located in Venice with a selection of sufficient size to accommodate even extended family members.

In addition to those apartments within our ‘Larger Apartments and Palazzi’ section, a number of our apartments are located in the same buildings as other VOV properties and so taken together may be suitable for your needs – please don’t hesitate to get in touch or give us a call to discuss your exact requirements and the options available.

Yes, this will be included in the information file at the apartment together with a map of Venice, vaporetto routes, and other documents you will find useful.

Yes, our office in Venice is very central and is open Monday - Friday 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Upon your arrival, one of our representatives will meet you at the vaporetto stop (or water taxi disembarkation point) closest to the apartment (as agreed during our prior correspondence with you) and accompany you to the property. You then check-in directly at the property where they’ll give you the keys, show you the ins and outs of the apartment, answer any queries you may have and give you all the assistance you should need. It is at this point that payment for the Security Deposit and the Venice Tourist Tax (on bookings made on or after 8th May ‘13) is taken by our representative.

At the property. When leaving one of our representatives will be there to collect keys etc.

You will receive detailed instructions on how to arrive in Venice when you book your apartment with us. Please bear in mind that the water bus service (known as the ‘vaporetto’ system) does not serve Venice’s Marco Polo Airport or Treviso Airport (which is served by the airlines Ryanair and Transavia). The following options are available, depending on which airport you are flying into:

From Marco Polo Airport (http://www.veniceairport.it/)

The easiest and, we think, the most memorable way into Venice if arriving at Marco Polo is by private water taxi. This can either be booked through us or found directly at the airport. Although this is the more expensive option, it is also the most convenient.

The following information and rates apply when booking a water taxi through Views on Venice -

- A water taxi is able to carry up to a maximum of 10 passengers and a maximum of 10 pieces of luggage.
- the standard rate from Marco Polo Airport to the apartment (or vice versa) is 115 euros for a maximum of 4 passengers. Supplement for each additional passenger : 10 euros.
- supplement between 10 p.m. - 7 a.m. : 10 euros each trip (per water taxi).
Please be aware that special requests made to the water taxi driver to travel to your apartment via the Grand Canal (when the apartment is not located on the Grand Canal or is normally accessed via a quicker/more direct route) may incur a supplement of approx. 50 euros per taxi (each trip).

You are kindly requested to pay the water taxi driver directly at the end of each journey.

Alternatively you can take a road taxi or the bus (see http://www.actv.it/ and http://www.atvo.it/ for timetables) to Piazzale Roma.  From Piazzale Roma  you may choose either to walk or take the water bus (the vaporetto) to the stop closest to your apartment.  (The most convenient vaporetto stop for your apartment can be found in the apartment description on this website).

Upon your arrival, one of our representatives will meet you at the vaporetto stop (or water taxi disembarkation point) closest to the apartment (as agreed during our prior correspondence with you) and accompany you to the property.

From Marco Polo Airport it will take approximately 25 minutes by water taxi and about an hour by other means of transport.

AND NOW, for that extra bit of pampering or at times when you feel you'd like a helping hand, Views on Venice is delighted to offer you a fully escorted private transfer service from Marco Polo Airport all the way to your chosen Views on Venice apartment.

Not only will our trusted English-speaking driver wait for your arrival at the  Airport Arrivals Hall, they'll welcome you onboard your private taxi or minibus (assisting with your luggage of course) and take you directly to the water taxi dock at the Airport. Once there, you'll be placed in the very capable hands of our English-speaking water taxi driver for your private water taxi ride into the city where you'll meet your appointed Views on Venice team member at the closest possible drop-off point to your apartment.

Throughout the transfer you'll be assured of a punctual, reliable and very personalised service allowing for a relaxed, stress-free and most enjoyable start to your stay.

This convenient and seamless transfer option is also available in the opposite direction (i.e. from your apartment to Venice's Marco Polo Airport at the end of your stay) and is only available to Views on Venice clients by contacting us directly at info@viewsonvenice.com when making your Views on Venice apartment booking.

Rates which are per party and NOT per person are as follows -

Car taxi via pier station + private water taxi

(seating a maximum of 3 guests with luggage) = €160.00 (one way). Supplement for each additional passenger : 15 euros.

Car taxi via Piazzale Roma + private water taxi (seating a maximum of 3 guests with luggage) = €130.00 (one way). Supplement for each additional passenger : 15 euros.

You are kindly requested to pay the car taxi /minibus driver directly in cash (euros) or credit card for each journey (i.e. at the start of your transfer if arriving in Venice or at the end of your transfer if departing).

From Treviso (Canova) Airport (http://www.trevisoairport.it/)

Please note that Treviso Airport (with its Ryanair and Transavia flights) is situated inland and is therefore not served by water taxis, the Alilaguna boat service or the water bus (vaporetto) system.
There is, however, a regular ATVO coach service which links this airport with Venice and usually coincides with flights. See http://www.atvo.it/  for timetables.  The journey from Treviso Airport to Piazzale Roma takes around 1 hour 10 minutes. From there you may choose to either take a private water taxi (see 'Piazzale Roma' section below), walk or take the water bus (the vaporetto) closest to your apartment. (The most convenient vaporetto stop for your apartment can be found in the apartment description on this website).
