A three bedroom home overlooking a quiet and peaceful canal in one of the nicest areas of Dorsdouro, directly opposite the “squero” , one of the last gondola boatyards still existing in Venice.

This lavish dwelling is part of a  “Palazzo” known as Barbarigo Nani, that has breathed 600 years of history and for centuries has been the residence of members of the Nani Mocenigo aristocratic clan.

The large foyer on ground level, dominated by an original 15th century marble staircase introduces the first master bedroom with en-suite.

A few short steps up the magnificent staircase and you are presented with the true heart of the house. Recently refurbished, the second level opens up to an elegant and spaciousliving/dining room where you’ll find the ceiling’s exposed ornate beams, original marblefireplace and typical  Venetian pebble flooring. Unforgettable sights and sounds of the authentic Venice can be experienced from the picturesque sit-on balconies facing the canal of San Trovaso .

The sleeping quarters are separated into two bedrooms. A sense of grandeur and elegance is immediately felt in the master bedroom with its Venetian gold trimmings, while in the second bedroom lie twoking singles, made up from an original antique double-bed, that according to family legend once slept Napoleon Bonaparte.

A modern and minimalist second bathroom contrasts the antique décor of this property, as well as the new, compact, but fully equipped kitchenette.
