Setting: The distinguished ‘Grande Dame’ of Venetian palazzi – hallowed throughout history, stupendous in aspect and immortalised on canvas by ‘Great Master’ brushstrokes - a wonderful property occupying that very special sweep of the Grand Canal between the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Accademia Gallery in the Dorsoduro district.

Fragile in beauty and displaying her own inimitable style, charm and pedigree within her aged and dignified 15th Century Gothic surroundings, Ca’ Damasco Piano Nobile sleeps six on the second floor of the Palazzo.

Proud, beguilingly beautiful and casting a magical spell over all those fortunate enough to gain entry, accommodation is both luxurious and memorable, and like all great style icons, offers a barely discernible nod to the fleeting fashions of the outside world.

Guests enter the Palazzo either via the private water entrance on the Grand Canal or the impressive arched internal courtyard with private ‘vera da pozzo’ well-head which would have stored water for the Palazzo in centuries past.

Within the apartment itself, accommodation comprises a breathtaking main ‘salon’ divided in two and running the entire length of the antique-filled apartment - a room of tall ceilings and grand gestures and a tantalising medley of glorious stucco work, amazing frescos, glittering chandeliers and, at each end, floor to ceiling Gothic windows opening directly onto long and wide stone balconies – one overlooking the Palazzo’s courtyard and with garden views to the rear and the other opening onto the spectacular vista of the Grand Canal, from the cupola of Salute to the Accademia Bridge…..dreams are made of this, to be sure.

At each side and also facing the Grand Canal are two smaller sitting rooms, their colours combining to represent those of the ancient Venetian Republic – one with rich Venetian red damask walls which can also be made into a double bedroom with more than a whiff of seduction and the other in golden hues with a vintage fireplace and semi-formal seating in ivory silk. In keeping with the overall style of the property, both rooms have Murano chandeliers, oriental rug-scattered terrazzo flooring, fabulous artwork and an intriguing ambience born of its noble ancestry. En-suite to the ‘Red’ room is a simple bathroom (as was the tradition in Venetian palazzi of this standing) with bathtub.

To the rear of the property and overlooking the courtyard is a bright, fresh and appealing double bedroom with star-spangled bedstead, terrazzo flooring and a simple en-suite bathroom in apricot with frilled vanity table plus bathtub.

Just off the main salon and also towards the rear is a spacious dining ‘vestibule’ leading on one side to the simply furnished kitchen/breakfast room with fitted units, all the necessary appliances plus a modern cooking range and on the other, to a large chandelier-hung dining room suitable for the most formal of dining with access to one of the property’s most enchanting features - the Palazzo’s private chapel, the sheer beauty of which simply renders one speechless.

To the middle of the apartment and again off the main salon sits a laundry room plus a staircase to a level above where a very simple single bedroom plus bathroom with bathtub is available for service/butler occupancy*, while on the main salon’s opposite side is a studio-library and a further staircase to a level above where two modestly attired single bedrooms (one with a French-size bed) and a bathroom with bathtub complete the apartment’s very flexible accommodation.
*please note that the service/butler accommodation is an entirely separate unit and does not communicate with either of the two single bedrooms or bathroom.

Butler and daily maid service available upon request.
