A bright and inviting duplex apartment on the third floor (without too many steps to climb), directly overlooking one of the most-photographed and charming locations in Dorsoduro - the historic and very characterful Squero di San Trovaso, founded in the 17th Century and the oldest of only a tiny handful of working gondola boatyards still left in Venice today, where skilled local artisans continue to craft, maintain and repair gondolas by hand using century old methods.

Freshly renovated in a classic, modern style to ensure up to six guests an entirely relaxing and user-friendly holiday experience, Ca' Dello Squero 2 features air-conditioning plus tasteful and carefully coordinated furnishings in addition to the benefits offered by its elevated top-of-the-house position - plenty of light, peace and quiet, rooftop vistas and views over the junction of two canals, the Rio dei Ognissanti and the Rio de San Trovaso.

Accommodation is spacious and spread over two floors. On the main floor there's an attractive sitting room with three comfortable sofas, a beamed ceiling, rich wooden flooring plus a stylish and rather trendy open-tread feature staircase leading to the floor above. Also on this level is a well-equipped kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms (a double with romantic four-poster bed, another with twins beds - both with beams and wooden flooring) and a sunny yellow and white tiled bathroom with a bathtub and handy washing machine. On the floor above there's a large and heavily beamed loft-style double bedroom with a double bed and a compact lapis-blue and white tiled bathroom with shower - great for a couple seeking extra privacy within the group.

And all in a location with everything going for it. Minutes to the Accademia Bridge/Academy of Fine Arts on the Grand Canal and even less to the wide Zattere waterfront for striking canal views and wonderful walks at any time of day, but especially at sunset with the one you love...

Close to a number of Venetian ‘institutions’ including the renowned ‘Cantinone Gia Schiavi - Al Bottegon’, a perfect venue for a spritz and some prize winning ‘cicheti’, ‘Lo Squero’, one of the best gelateria in the city and 'Locanda Montin', one of Venice's most famous restaurants. Within very easy reach of the well-stocked Billa Supermarket on the Zattere, along which you'll also find some great dining options, including the accomplished cooking of ‘Ristorante Riviera’ and the chic over-water terrace of ‘Lineadombra’ or, for something simpler, ‘Ae Oche’ with its mind-boggling variety of eat-in or takeaway pizza..
