A timeless and tasteful apartment for five - chic, stylish and with a certain cachet.

Charmingly situated in a hushed location overlooking the languid 'Rio Delle Fornace' canal and sharing its immediate neighbourhood with such world-class museums and instantly recognisable landmarks as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Francois Pinault's Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art (featuring the remarkable statue 'Boy with Frog' recently unveiled at its tip), the domes of the Church of Santa Maria Della Salute and, within a few minutes walk, the Accademia Galleries and Accademia Bridge leading across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco.

Located on the third floor and striking a highly attractive and very welcoming balance between relaxed informality and polished elegance, Ca' Soranzo is beautifully furnished and decorated in softly muted and flatteringly glowing tones of mellow apricot and Bellini peach, with splashes of russet acting as a contrast.

In terms of layout, it has a smart and very comfortable living room enjoying plenty of light, fine canal views and featuring solid wooden parquet flooring and ample seating, a small dining room also with parquet flooring plus a dainty, shallow terrace offering rooftop views and a modern, fully fitted eat-in kitchen, well-equipped for home cooking.

There are three bedrooms - an appealing master bedroom with a double bed and thoughtfully decorated with collectables, another bedroom equally attractive and with two twin beds and a third bedroom with a single bed and access onto the terrace mentioned above. The two bathrooms (one with a bathtub and the other with a shower) are freshly appointed and feature up-to-date fittings, mirrored walls and chequered flooring. OUR COMMENT

An elegant, comfortable and relaxing apartment, peacefully located away from the tourist crowds yet within easy reach of a number of Venice's best-loved attractions.

Close to the 'Traghetto' Gondola Ferry at Calle Lanza which, during operating times, ferries passengers across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco and within a minute of the impressive Zattere waterfront - a long, wide promenade (and a favourite walk of Venetians and well-informed visitors alike) affording the most spectacular boat-dotted views across the waters to the island of Giudecca.
