A beautifully stylish and cosy duplex apartment with a private courtyard/garden tucked away in the beautiful Dorsoduro district.

The apartment is on two floors and is boldly decorated and eclectically furnished with a distinct nod to eastern influences. Perhaps inspired by the far eastern travels of ancient Venetian explorer Marco Polo, its rich and flamboyant colours hint at rare spices and precious materials and are at once both opulent and relaxing.

The ground floor of the property has a beamed kitchen and dining area which faces the private courtyard/garden on one side and a small canal on the other (the Rio delle Torreselle) while on the top floor there’s a living area also with a beamed ceiling, a small bedroom with French bed and a bathroom with bathtub.

A romantic and sensual little oasis with great character and in a lovely setting. Close to Francois Pinault’s Punta Della Dogana contemporary art centre, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Traghetto at Calle Lanza which, during operating times, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal over to the district of San Marco.

OUR COMMENT

A memorable hideaway with a canal view. Cosy in winter and also perfect in mild weather and on balmy summer evenings when the courtyard/garden comes into its own.
