Chill out and unwind in its all-embracing comfort or out on the terrace when the weather looks glorious – a warm and characterful two bedroom apartment in Cannaregio, one bridge away from the ancient Campo Di Ghetto Nuovo - The Jewish Ghetto dated 1516-1797 - and the Jewish Museum of Venice in one of the most fascinating and historically significant areas of the city.
Sleeping three guests in well laid out and spacious yet cosy and cosseting accommodation on the first floor of the property, Ca’ Foscarina’s tasteful accommodation comprises a main living space with a well-equipped high-gloss kitchen in spicy chilli pepper red at one end and a partially separated sitting/dining area with splashes of ivory and pimento shades at the other, all set against the rich glow of polished wooden flooring, picture covered walls and exposed ceiling beams.
Just off this main room are two light and nicely decorated bedrooms – a master with attractively co-ordinated furniture, a double bed plus plenty of wardrobe space and a further single bedroom decked out in a similarly elegant style and with a single bed. All main rooms have air-conditioning for your comfort and relaxation during the warmer months of the year while just off the kitchen area is a washing machine within a small utility area (so very handy for longer stays) and a modern style bathroom with an enclosed shower, lapis blue tiling and up-to-date style fittings.
Also off the main living space is a glazed verandah where bi-folding doors open out onto a deck with stairs leading up to a splendid furnished terrace with a table, chairs and a leafy display of evergreen plants and verdant foliage.
OUR COMMENT
Classical style with a super furnished terrace and wonderfully positioned for living the ‘real’ Venice.
Seconds away from the Fondamenta Ormesini on the ‘Rio de la Misericordia’ canal and close to a great range of little neighbourhood shops (including a bakery, gelateria and pharmacy) plus a wealth of restaurants and bars including the popular Anice Stellato, eno-osteria Al Timon, Trattoria Antica Mola, Al Mariner and the legendary atmosphere of Paradiso Perduto.
A short walk to the Strada Nova for all your self-catering needs and to the wide Cannaregio Canal - one of the largest and most colourful working canals in the city. Also convenient for Venice’s Santa Lucia Station (Ferrovia) on foot if travelling light.
