SECONDS on foot to St. Mark's Square - a light, spacious and ultra-central apartment sleeping up to five, discreetly hidden away in a secret little courtyard just behind Venice's famous Clock Tower' ('Torre dell' Orologio') and the closest apartment we have in our portfolio to the Piazza once described by Napoleon Bonaparte as 'the finest drawing room in Europe' - an iconic space instantly recognised the world over.

On the first floor of an old and typically Venetian house just off the 'Mercerie dell' Orologio' (historically and still to this day, one of the most important shopping thoroughfares in the city), Ca' Della Torre is a comfortable base with traditional, yet very simple, Venetian-style furnishings lending an attractive and delicate appeal to the property.

It has an entrance with traditional 'terrazzo' flooring and a bright and roomy living room overlooking both the 'calle' beneath and the narrow and very characteristic 'Rio Di Cappello' canal and which features a sofa, dining table and chairs and wooden parquet flooring. There are two bedrooms - a master bedroom with a double bed and 'terrazzo' flooring and a cosy and compact twin bedroom with wooden parquet flooring and two single beds (one of which has an extra single pull-out bed beneath), plus two bathrooms for extra privacy and comfort - one with bathtub and a smaller one with shower. Not an apartment for cooking up a feast as kitchen facilities are limited to a kitchenette (with fridge, sink and two electric rings) in the main living/dining room.

Catch the envious attention of fellow (hotel-based) city visitors as you 'make like a local' while casually strolling home with essential home supplies from the local supermarket, perhaps stopping for a reviving glass of Prosecco and a simple bite to eat in the non-touristy ambience of enoteca 'Cavatappi' ('Corkscrew'), found directly en-route.

Rise with the lark to capture the indescribable emotion of having St. Mark's Square (almost!) to yourself, save for a handful of hard-working city sweepers with their traditional 'witches' broomsticks', busily preparing the Piazza for another unforgettable day of rapturous gazes and unrivalled photo opportunities. Or visit at night when the world-famous Ristorante Gran Caffe Quadri and Caffe Florian conjure up a unique and very magical atmosphere, while the pink and white marble of the Doge's Palace glows and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness.

A simple, comfortable and great value apartment in an AMAZINGLY central position and ideal for those guests not really into cooking and who'd prefer to eat out. Close to the major attractions of St. Mark’s Square (not forgetting the Correr Museum and the memorable views from the Campanile), yet only a short stroll to the more sedate pace of life lived out amongst the beautiful calles, campos and bridges of Castello (for further details, please see our 'About Venice' section).
