A handsome two bedroom apartment where you’ll immediately feel in the holiday spirit! Recently renovated and with two small adjoining terraces, Ca’ Malipiero sits on a delightful little street in the San Samuele area just steps away from the birthplace of the adventurer, writer and legendary lover, Giacomo Casanova (Calle Malipiero - 2 April 1725). Very close to the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art and a short, straightforward stroll to the cafes and liveliness of Campo Santo Stefano and the Accademia Bridge which crosses the Grand Canal and leads into the district of Dorsoduro
Airy and beautifully bright (owing to its top/3rd floor position - but without too many steps to climb!) and with outlooks over three aspects, Ca’ Malipiero is well decorated, comfortably furnished and an ideal choice for up to four.
It has a relaxing living area with a double sofa bed, a fully fitted kitchen/dining room, a bedroom with a double bed and another with twin beds which can also be set up as a double – simply ask when booking. The bathroom has a bathtub and hand held shower while two lovely small adjoining terraces offer little glimpses into a Venice the tourist rarely sees and act as an ‘extra room’ tailor-made for chilling out with a glass of wine and a book*. Added advantages include air-conditioning, a washing machine and internet connection.
A highly enjoyable apartment in a central yet peaceful and very genteel area known for its galleries and antique shops but which also offers a grocery/delicatessen, wine shop, osterie and cafes so maintaining its neighbourly feel.
OUR COMMENT
Within easy reach of the vaporetto system for easy travel and sightseeing around the city, Ca’ Malipiero is also handy for two ‘Traghettos’ ferrying passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal (please check their operating hours prior to making your journey) - one operating between San Samuele and Ca’ Rezzonico (with its Museum of 18th Century Art) and the other between Calle Del Tragheto near Sant’ Angelo and San Toma in the San Polo district of the city.
*Please note that access to the adjoining terraces is via the twin bedroom and/or the bathroom (see floorplan for details).
