Spacious and practical second floor apartment, strategically positioned right in the beating heart of the popular San Polo district and only two minutes walk to the 14th century Church of the Frari, the jaw-dropping Tintoretto-filled interior of the Scuola Grande Di San Rocco and the vaporetto stop and 'Traghetto' gondola ferry at San Toma on the Grand Canal - ideal for trips (during its operating times) over to the 'must-see' attractions of the San Marco district and beyond.
With an enviable address close to the narrow 'Calle Dei Saoneri' (or 'Street of the Soap-Makers' - named after the soap factories which were here in olden days and where today you'll find a twinkling profusion of huddled and characterful shops offering everything from fine gloves and handbags in the softest rainbow-coloured leathers to delicately embroidered lampshades and masterfully crafted miniature glass flora and fauna), Ca’ Morolin is perfect for three and is simply and tastefully decorated in modern style.
It has a comfortable living area, a well equipped kitchen/dining room, a light and roomy master bedroom with double bed and a second bedroom, also bright with one single bed. All rooms feature traditional Venetian 'terrazzo' flooring, with the exception of the very neat and compact bathroom which has a shower, modern fittings and is fully tiled.
Throw into this promising mix the availability of air-conditioning, a washing machine, and its proximity to a local 'Billa' supermarket and you have the perfect recipe for a successful and very convenient Venetian holiday base, at any time of the year...Enjoy!
OUR COMMENT
Simple yet comfortable and very well situated – a stone’s throw from the largest campo in Venice (Campo San Polo) and roughly equidistant to the Rialto area in the north (with its mouth-watering food markets) and to the Dorsoduro district in the south (with its wide ‘fondamente’, antique shops and galleries). And, for those with a penchant for boats or a fascination with traditional Venetian craft and who'd perhaps like to try their hand at making a replica model of their very own, then why not visit the shop of Venetian boat expert, Gilberto Penzo, just moments away from the apartment door.
