Description
Ca’ Teresa
Take a break in San Marco well away from the crowds at this smart San Samuele property with a terrace on top!
Nestling high above a labyrinth of hushed little alleyways close to art and antique galleries and sunny Campo Santo Stefano, and ideally placed for the first time or regular visitor seeking both peace AND easy access to Venice’s star attractions, apartment Ca’ Teresa sleeps up to 3 guests in air-conditioned comfort on the building’s 2nd floor*.
Sharing the genteel San Samuele neighbourhood with some of the city’s most famous palaces and coveted addresses – including the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art and the one-time home of Lord Byron, Palazzo Mocenigo – and embracing its guests within a quietly serene environment of simple, understated elegance just moments from the house in which it’s believed Casanova was born to become one of Venice’s most celebrated sons, this 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment offers Wi-Fi and comprises:
• An entrance on the 1st floor of the building followed by internal staircase rising up to Ca’ Teresa’s main accommodation on the
2nd Floor where we find
• A spacious sitting / dining room overlooking the tranquil Calle dei Orbi – contemporary in style and uncluttered in effect – lit by a skylight overhead and a fabulously ornate Rococo wall sconce at its entrance and featuring traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, a luxurious teal-blue curved velvet sofa for lounging, a Georgian style circular dining table with ‘ghost’ style seating for 4, and sage blue-green walls mirroring the palette of the rug underfoot
• A semi-separate little galley-style kitchen with white streamlined units
• An internal corridor with painted panelling offering access onto Ca’ Teresa’s quaint bijou balcony and showcasing an exquisitely pretty hand-blown crown glass ‘bottle bottom’ window throwing delicate translucent shades of violet, blue and yellow
• A bright and welcoming master bedroom at the far end with a double bed, a handy walk-in wardrobe and a modern en suite bathroom with shower
• A cosy 2nd bedroom dressed in Osborne & Little’s flamboyantly leafy ‘Feuille d’Or’ wallpaper in cacao and gold with a single bed and a separate bathroom with shower**
While a staircase from the internal corridor leads up to the
3rd Floor and
• A spacious furnished roof terrace where you can take in the rays while casting your eyes across the characteristically Venetian scene!
* Please note that the apartment is reached by stairs (no lift)
** Please be aware that the second bedroom is smaller but nice, cosy and welcoming, suitable for children but also for adults
OUR COMMENT
‘Smart Casual’ in vibe and refined in location – central yet peaceful… and with outside space too!
Within a stone’s throw of the Accademia Bridge and Galleries, the sunny outdoor cafes of Campo Santo Stefano, plus numerous bars and restaurants including Bacaro Da Fiore for cicheti with the locals.
Equally close to the area’s gorgeous little shops and art and antique galleries including that of interior designer Chiarastella Cattana – a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici), along with a wine shop selling ‘vino sfuso’ (wine on tap), a small Alimentari for stocking up on supplies, and a large Punto supermarket just a short walk further on.
Also within very easy reach of 2 vaporetto (water bus) stops – San Samuele and Sant’ Angelo – for exploring the city, as well as the local ‘traghetto’ at Garzoni which, during operating times, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to San Tomà in the district of San Polo.
Important: please note that the apartment only accepts fully supervised children over 6 years of age or under 1 year (non-walking babies) because of the internal stairs and rooftop terrace

The apartment is amazing and we are glad, we booked one with a terrace. It was nice to drink a beer before going out to cicchetti and having dinner. The bed was so comfortable and the fact, it has two bathrooms is very practical. We were also happy, see more
The apartment is amazing and we are glad, we booked one with a terrace. It was nice to drink a beer before going out to cicchetti and having dinner. The bed was so comfortable and the fact, it has two bathrooms is very practical. We were also happy, that we could prolongate one night, without a complicated process :) Thanks for making our trip to venice even a bit better!
