Description
A wonderfully bright and airy apartment - tried, tested and treasured! - occupying the entire 3rd (and top) floor in a lively neighbourhood on the borders of the Dorsoduro, Santa Croce and San Polo districts. Near the Frari Church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco (2 minutes walk), Campo Santa Margherita (4 minutes walk), and San Tomà with its vaporetto and traghetto gondola ferry on the Grand Canal (6 minutes walk).
What makes this property extra special is its ten windows onto three aspects with lovely views over a small canal (Rio San Pantalon) plus its excellent position…
Food and wine shopping and a very ‘local’ ambience are to be found close by in Campo Santa Margherita and, when it comes to relaxing and eating out, you’re spoilt for choice with many recommended restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk - including 'Estro - Vino e Cucina' just down the calle and the canalside 'Adriatico Mar’ at the foot of ‘your’ bridge.
Offering guests all the comforts of home (including WiFi, air-conditioning plus a washing machine and dryer), the apartment is tastefully decorated in contemporary fashion throughout and boasts a large open-plan main room (combining a sitting/dining area and kitchen in one and furnished with a pair of sofas, a dining suite seating 4 and a fully fitted kitchen), a double bedroom, a second smaller bedroom with 2 twin beds (which can be made unto a double - simply ask when booking), plus a spacious modern bathroom with bathtub and shower over.
OUR COMMENT
A small but popular apartment in a great spot with lovely canal views. Quick and easy access to Piazzale Roma on foot if travelling light (about 6/8 minutes). And for film buffs, very near to where the carnival scene in the 2008 film version of ‘Brideshead Revisited’ was shot.
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

Very comfortable, but would benefit from a modest upgrade in bedding to make things a little more luxurious.

This was a nice apartment for a family of four with two adults and two teens. It was a nice distance from the crowds of San Marco but still just around the corner from a nice bakery for morning pastries (just Google Panificio Barozzi), good restaurants and cafes. It was kind of far from any vaporetto stops but honestly we usually preferred to walk everywhere anyway. The apartment is small but has everything you need including a nice dining table, kitchen supplies and comfy sofa in the living room. Mattresses are a little hard in the bedrooms but fine for the week.

If you can get nicer mattresses or a mattress topper that would really really help. Down comforters would be nice also instead of the blankets.

After a lot of research on places to stay in Venice we came across Views on Venice - all the positive reviews we read encouraged us to book and we are delighted we did! The booking process was straightforward, we were informed of the best ways to reach Venice from the airport and arriving at night it was fantastic that Daniela met us at the closest vaporetto stop to guide us to the apartment. Daniela was very friendly and helpful explaining points of interest on a map and answering any questions. Also the “welcome pack” of coffee, bread and jam on the dining table was a lovely touch! The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious enough for four adults and is only about a five minute walk from S.Toma vaporetto stop. The information handbook in the apartment was very detailed with lots of handy tips and the area we were in Dorsoduro was excellent - near enough to access everywhere in Venice but also a quiet little haven when we returned in the evening after walking around all day. When we had a power cut which could not be solved by following instructions in the apartment manual we called Annalisa who was great and quickly gave us advice which solved the issue. We would not hesitate to recommend VoV to anyone thinking about going to Venice and will absolutely stay with them again on our next trip. Mille grazie from Scotland!

For me, the moment of arrival and meeting with a representative for handing over the keys was exciting. Venice is not a simple city and it is quite difficult to find an apartment. I think guests arriving for the first time can be met at Piazza Romathe train station. It may be worthwhile to give in advance information about the baggage delivery service to the apartments and to the Piazza Roma. If guests come for a long time, this will be important for them. Otherwise, representatives were always in touch and helped with the solution of emerging issues. Thank you)))

A perennial VOV favourite that just gets better with age!
Matured like a fine wine to be sipped and savoured by its guests and ravishingly renovated in late 2019 to maintain (and exceed!) the high standards expected during your stay, the charming Ca’ Belle Arti sits on the 1st floor of a little ‘casa’ in the heart of Dorsoduro beside the tranquil Campo Sant’ Agnese.
Within minutes of the Accademia Bridge/Galleries, the Palazzo Cini Gallery and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and just a few steps (via a short ‘sotoportego’) to the stunning Zattere promenade along the glittering Giudecca Canal, this evergreen apartment boasts 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, plus Wi-Fi and air-conditioning to keep you connected, comfy and cool.
Welcoming in ambience, timeless in decor and putting relaxation at the heart of the house, the ‘sleeps 4’ Ca’ Belle Arti is both cosy and stylish and comprises:
Ground floor
• A private front entrance leading directly into the apartment’s vestibule hallway with a handy laundry room equipped with a washing machine situated to the rear.
A short staircase rising up to the 1st (main) floor, where you’ll find:
• Attractively presented in co-ordinated neutral colours, a splendid open-plan main sitting room/kitchen/dining area offering plenty of space for everyone to be together and showcasing characterful wooden beams overhead, a pair of tall windows to the fore letting in plenty of light with custom-built cabinetry beneath, a series of sepia architectural wall-prints set above a squishy sofa and double sofa bed furnished with cushions galore, a compact yet fully-fitted kitchen with all the necessary appliances for easy self-catering, and a dining space with ample seating as part of the kitchen.
And just to the side of the main room:
• A bright and elegantly presented master bedroom with a tall beamed ceiling, a pair of windows facing the campo, warm wooden flooring underfoot to match that of the sitting room, a walk-in wardrobe, a comfortable double bed (which can be made into twins upon request) and an en suite bathroom with modern shower.
While tucked away peacefully to the rear of Ca’ Belle Arti sits:
• The masterfully upgraded 2nd bedroom ¬– more ‘bijou’ than the master – charmingly decked out in restful eau-de-nil and furnished with a custom-built single wardrobe to each side of its well-dressed double bed.
And completing the accommodation towards the centre of the apartment:
• Ca’ Belle Arti’s 2nd bathroom with modern fittings and a bathtub with shower over.
Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer another gorgeous apartment just a few steps away: Ca’ Dell’ Ulivo
OUR COMMENT
A much-loved apartment with a very loyal following, newly renovated and peacefully placed in one of Venice’s most select residential locales (and situated right at the foot of the sleepy little calle where, in a scene from the classic 1955 must-watch David Lean film ‘Summertime’, Katharine Hepburn and her street urchin companion laugh as they cool themselves down in the waters of the neighbourhood fountain!)
Close to the Church of the Gesuati (Santa Maria del Rosario), the Church of Santa Maria Della Salute, the Punta Della Dogana Museum of Contemporary Art and to a great choice of eating places including the well-reviewed Ristorante Agli Alboretti approaching the Accademia Bridge via the avenue of Oleander that is the Rio Tera Foscarini; the famous gelataria Da Nico; the popular and long-standing Trattoria Ai Cugnai and Corner Pub; the Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi - Al Bottegon (both perfect for spritz and ‘cicheti’); the upscale Ai Gondolieri behind the Guggenheim and the equally upscale Ristorante Riviera overlooking the Zattere; or for something simpler, Oke with its mind-boggling variety of eat-in or takeaway pizza.
Also within a short canal-side walk of the well-stocked Conad supermarket at the western end of the Zattere for all your self-catering needs, and minutes to 2 vaporetto (water bus) stops – ‘Zattere’ to the south and ‘Accademia’ to the north – plus only 1 minute to the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport.

Ca’ Del Monastero 1
Introducing the very special Ca’ Del Monastero - a fine antique residence comprising 9 superbly restored apartments of varying size (including Ca’ Del Monastero 1 - see its dedicated section below) situated in what was once the monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà (one of the oldest in Venice), moments from the Grand Canal in the district of Santa Croce.
Enjoying an atmosphere of calm serenity in what must surely be one of Venice’s most evocative and unspoilt neighbourhoods - indeed a step back in time - the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments offer spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for small and medium size parties or up to 38 guests if taken together.*
No expense has been spared in its recent remodelling…
Carefully co-ordinated contemporary furnishings and soft neutral colours meld seamlessly against a traditional backdrop of polished red marble and/or traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, while stylish high-spec fittings and attractive finishes, such as textured resin walls and luxurious feature wall coverings, give a fresh and fashionable twist to the building’s ancient framework.
Enhanced by a range of up-to-date facilities as demanded by today’s savvy traveller (including air-conditioning**, Wi-Fi internet connection and a communal utility room with washing machine), the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments are perfectly placed for communing with the true and heart and soul of the city and for visiting all that Venice has to offer while providing all the comforts of modern city living.
Ca’ Del Monastero 1
A charming and well-proportioned 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment with picturesque views of the Church, Campo and Rio de San Degolà.
Sleeping four and situated on the 1st floor of the residence with lift, the apartment comprises an attractive main sitting room with beautiful rustic ceiling beams, a large L-shaped sofa ideal for relaxation, trendy clear ‘ghost’ armchairs adding to the feeling of space and two full-length double doors opening onto a pretty Juliet balcony overlooking the square.
Double doors from the sitting room lead directly into a stylish dining room featuring large windows facing the square and a modern-style glass chandelier above a dining suite seating four which in turn leads into a smart, up-to-date and well-equipped kitchen with everything one would require for easy self-catering.
Also facing the campo is a double bedroom with a french-bed sleeping two and a separate bathroom with modern shower just to the side, while to the rear of the property sits the apartment’s chic and very roomy main bedroom with double bed and desk area plus a further separate bathroom with bathtub and shower over.
*Are you a part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer eight other apartments within this residence: Ca’ Del Monastero 2, Ca’ Del Monastero 3, Ca’ Del Monastero 4, Ca’ Del Monastero 5, Ca’ Del Monastero 6, Ca’ Del Monastero 7, Ca’ Del Monastero 8, Ca' Del Monastero 9.
Our Comment
Style, creature comforts and history combined, in an area brimming with local flavour.
Within easy walking distance of Venice’s Santa Lucia Railway Station and Piazzale Roma if travelling light, and even closer to the vaporetto (waterbus) stops at Riva di Biasio and San Stae on the Grand Canal for hassle-free travel around the city.
And so much to see and do right on your doorstep…
Moments to Campo San Giacomo Dell’ Orio - one of Venice’s most charming ‘away from the crowds’ tree-filled squares and home to a well-stocked Coop supermarket and nearby local shops - and a short walk to a Conad supermarket on the Rio Marin canal.
Close to a great variety of cafes, bars and eateries including All’ Anfora, La Zucca, Il Refolo, Al Prosecco and Antica Besseta to name but a few, and within minutes of the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae (Museum of the History of Fabrics, Costumes and Perfumes) and the Fondazione Prada at Ca’ Corner Della Regina.
A leisurely stroll to the 14th Century Franciscan Church of the Frari, (home to Canova's extraordinary triangular marble tomb and Titian's legendary masterpiece, the 'Assumption'), the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with its amazing Tintoretto’s, the vast palazzo-lined Campo San Polo plus the culinary delights and buzz of the Rialto.
** Please note that the operation of air-conditioning and heating are subject to municipality regulation. In general, heating is available from mid-October to mid-April, while air-conditioning is available from mid-April to mid-October. Please contact us for further information.
