    Accommodation

    Description

Lovingly restored and thoughtfully curated, Operetta is a luminous 80 sqm apartment that offers a serene and stylish escape in the historic Dorsoduro district of Venice. With its bespoke interiors and carefully chosen finishes, this elegant home evokes a fresh yet classic atmosphere — one that feels at once welcoming and quietly splendid.

Brimming with character and subtle sophistication, Operetta has been appointed with selected soft furnishings, custom details, and a palette that balances Venetian charm with modern comfort. Natural light accentuates the textures and tones throughout, creating an ambience that is as elegant as it is relaxed.

Designed for up to 4 guests, the fully air‑conditioned apartment features two beautifully proportioned bedrooms and one stylish bathroom, making it ideal for couples, friends, or a small family. The sleeping arrangements comprise one double bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds, perfect for flexible travel needs.

The living space invites you to unwind in comfort after a day of exploring Venice’s labyrinth of canals and historic streets, while the well‑equipped kitchen provides everything needed for home‑cooked meals — from breakfast coffees to leisurely dinners. Thoughtful amenities such as Wi‑Fi, washing machine, dryer, television and a fully equipped kitchen ensure a seamless and carefree stay.

Operetta is nestled in the heart of Dorsoduro, one of Venice’s most charming and artistic districts. Just a short stroll from the apartment, guests can visit the Accademia Galleries, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the Church of the Salute, as well as wander along the scenic Zattere waterfront. The area is dotted with excellent cafés, traditional bacari for spritz and cicchetti, and fine dining restaurants, offering a true taste of Venetian life. Vaporetto (water bus) stops are within easy reach, making it simple to explore the rest of the city while enjoying the quieter, authentic ambiance of Dorsoduro.

Whether returning from a wander through the nearby calli and piazzette, or lingering over a glass of Venetian wine in the evening, Operetta offers a genuine sense of place — an elegant stage upon which to enjoy the timeless magic of Venice.

Operetta is where quiet elegance meets everyday comfort — a refined yet unpretentious sanctuary in one of the world’s most romantic cities. Ideal for guests who appreciate thoughtful design, practical luxury, and a true Venetian experience.

An ancient canal-side palace within minutes of St. Mark’s Square.

Hidden away on its landside within the secret courtyard ‘Corte Rubbi’, on the Castello/San Marco border, this once forgotten building has been magically transformed by restorers with vision and interior design savoir-faire.

Standing at the gondola-busy T-junction of the San Zulian and Bareteri canals, and encapsulating 10 dazzling apartments of varying colourway and size, the newly launched Corte Rubbi is but a stroll to some of Venice’s most iconic attractions and countless beguiling vistas on which to feast your eyes!

Easy to find (when you know the way!) from the shop-lined Campo San Bartolomeo and Salizada San Lio on one of Venice’s canal-encircled ‘islands within an island’, these imaginatively furnished apartments offer Wi-Fi and a communal laundry room and are spread across 4 floors with all upper floors reached by stairs.

Highly contemporary in style, air-conditioned** throughout and ranging from a charming studio for 4 to a fabulous penthouse with rooftop terrace, Corte Rubbi’s 10 apartments sleep up to 42 guests if booked exclusively and include:

Corte Rubbi 6 – on the 2nd Floor reached by stairs – sleeping 4

A peaceful and relaxing studio apartment looking onto the courtyard comprising:

A charming main living / dining / sleeping area in warm and welcoming ivory and pink with wooden parquet flooring underfoot, wooden beamed ceiling overhead, a pair of queen size double beds and a dining area seating 4

A well-equipped kitchenette for light cooking reached by a few steps up from the main room

A luxurious bathroom to the side with marble walls and chromotherapy shower

Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer 9 other apartments within this palazzo: Corte Rubbi 1, Corte Rubbi 3, Corte Rubbi 5, Corte Rubbi 8, Corte Rubbi 9, Corte Rubbi 10, Corte Rubbi 11 and Corte Rubbi 5514

      OUR COMMENT

A peaceful and relaxing studio for 4, in a vibrant, central and endlessly fascinating part of town.

A few steps away from the 18th-century church of Santa Maria Della Fava and close to a host of famous sights and attractions including the atmospheric Venetian time-capsule that is the Querini Stampalia, the fabulous Palazzo Grimani just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria with its crypt and wonderful Bellini altarpiece, and Vivaldi’s La Pietà on the sunny Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront…

… A short stroll towards a very sedate pace of life lived out amongst the tranquil calles, canals and green spaces of Castello with its laid-back and very genuine neighbourhood vibe…

… Or rise with the lark to embrace the atmosphere of St. Mark’s Square (‘the Piazza’) gloriously near-empty before its visitors arrive… or visit at night when the orchestras of Quadri and Florian play*, the bells of the Campanile (bell tower) toll, the marble of the Doge’s Palace glows, and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness…

Close to a host of shops, restaurants and bars including the much-lauded Alle Testiere, the upmarket Bistrot de Venise and Alle Corone of the nearby Hotel Reali, the charming Osteria Al Portego (delicious cicheti!) and Osteria Ae Sconte, plus Ristorante Santa Maria Formosa with its tables on the campo.

Also within easy reach of 4 well-stocked supermarkets – a Despar at Calle al Ponte de la Guerra, a COOP at Salizada San Lio, and a COOP and a Despar on the Riva del Carbon (near the Rialto Bridge), along with a ‘Vino Sfuso’ (wine on tap) shop on Calle del Mondo Novo and a greengrocer’s stand at Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Within a short stroll of the vaporetto (water bus) stop at Rialto for exploring the city, the ‘Traghetto’ gondola ferry carrying passengers across the Grand Canal between the Riva Del Carbon and San Silvestro in the San Polo district and the vaporetto (water bus) stop at San Zaccaria for trips around town, visits to the Lido beaches and to the Biennale Pavilions at Arsenale and Giardini.
