A dream Grand Canal pied-à-terre for two promising the full Venetian experience within the august surroundings of one of Venice’s most notable palazzos!
Sharing its distinctly upmarket neighbourhood with some of the city’s most coveted residences and ideally placed for the first time or regular visitor to Venice who appreciates peaceful surroundings yet who’d like to stay close to many of her star attractions (including those at St. Mark’s Square and Rialto just a short walk away!)
Within a stone’s throw of the Accademia Bridge crossing the Grand Canal over to the district of Dorsoduro (check out the newly opened and beautifully positioned Moro Café and Restaurant at Palazzo Franchetti right beside it!) and within moments of traditional bars and osterie, a wine shop, a local grocery/delicatessen and a very well-stocked Despar supermarket (and a cinema!) just a little further on.
Antique shops, small galleries and little boutiques are right on your doorstep including Palwer Jewellery, Artion Galleries, Atelier Elizabetta Zanutto, interior designer Chiarastella Cattana – a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici).
Also close to two vaporetto (water bus) stops – San Samuele (Line 2) and Sant’ Angelo (Line 1) – for foot-friendly exploration of the city, and moments to the local traghetto at Garzoni which, during operating times, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to San Toma in the district of San Polo... watch it crossing from your windows!

Appartement fabuleux, avec vue panoramique tout à fait exceptionnelle sur Venise.
Située sur l’île sereine de la Giudecca (où Elton John a un appartement !) et juste en face du sestiere Dorsoduro, de l’autre côté du canal de la Giudecca Canal, cette propriété chic et ensoleillée est au troisième et dernier étage d’un immeuble récent ; un appartement de style, confortable, et très bien situé, tout près de l’église du Redentore (16ème siècle), de l’architecte Andrea Palladio.
Le séjour/ salle à manger est décoré avec goût ; ses grandes portes-fenêtres donnent directement sur la terrasse qui longe tout l’appartement, et sur laquelle vous pourrez prendre vos repas « al fresco ». La chambre est double, la cuisine est entièrement équipée, et la salle de bain comprend une douche et une baignoire.
Par un escalier, vous accédez à une « altana » (terrasse de bois sur le toit) tout à fait exceptionnelle, offrant, comme la terrasse du niveau inférieur, une vue inoubliable sur la ville de l’autre côté du canal, sur St Marc, le Dorsoduro, les dômes de Santa Maria Della Salute – idéal pour prendre un bain de soleil, se détendre en lisant ou en buvant un verre, ou tout simplement pour admirer la vue et les bateaux qui parcourent le canal.
Bien que vous puissiez être tenté de passer tout votre séjour à profiter de ce fantastique appartement, St Marc et le Dorsoduro sont à moins de cinq minutes en bateau – la culture, les boutiques et toutes les merveilles de Venise sont à portée de main.
Connue autrefois pour ses palazzi aux merveilleux jardins, et appréciée aujourd’hui pour son caractère authentique, l’île de la Giudecca contient toute une variété de restaurants : « Harry’s Dolci » avec sa belle terrasse ombragée, les restaurants chic de l’Hôtel Cipriani, mais aussi d’autres plus simples et moins onéreux. Et si vous préférez profiter de la vue et de l’intimité de votre appartement et de ses terrasses, vous pourrez faire vos courses dans les épiceries et supermarchés de l’île (la COOP est toute proche, près de l’arrêt de vaporetto de Palanca).

Très bel appartement mansardé, avec poutres apparentes et « altana » (terrasse sur le toit), dans l’élégant quartier de San Samuele, réputé pour ses galeries et ses antiquaires, à quelques pas du Campo Santo Stefano, du musée d’art contemporain du Palazzo Grassi et de la « Casa Veronese » où vécut Paolo Véronèse, grand peintre de la Renaissance italienne (auteur notamment des « Noces de Cana » et du « Repas chez Levi », lequel se trouve aujourd’hui à l’Accademia).
Dans l’entrée, un petit escalier vous mène à un séjour spacieux et lumineux dont les fenêtres offrent une belle vue de l’agréable Salizada San Samuele. Vous pourrez prendre votre petit-déjeuner ou vous détendre au soleil, après une journe de visite, sur l’« altana », de petite taille mais très agréable. La chambre double avec ses poutres apparentes, à l’arrière de l’appartement, est pleine de caractère ; la salle de bain est avec baignoire, la petite cuisine est entièrement équipée. Cet appartement de taille très confortbale dipose également de beaucoup d’espaces de rangement.
Tout proche d’une variété d’osterie, de cafés avec terrasses, d’un caviste/ traiteur, c’est le lieu idéal pour goûter au mode de vie vénitien ; et pour explorer les autres parties de la ville, vous êtes tout prêt de deux arrêts de vaporetto et du « Traghetto » qui vous fait traverser le Grand Canal et vous dépose à San Toma dans le sestiere San Polo.

Appartement très confortable et très bien situé, adapté à toutes les saisons : chaleureux et plein de caractère l’hiver, spacieux et frais l’été, période à laquelle l’« altana » est particulièrement appréciée. Pour les amoureux des parfums, tout près de la célèbre « Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella » florentine – l’une des plus anciennes pharmacies au monde, qui fournissait autrefois Catherine de Médicis.
